Out of Place

I was grappling with a recent move from urban San Francisco to the mountain desert of central Mexico. Feeling inexplicably dislocated and out of place, I anchored myself by collaging together vintage photos from my collection with natural elements I picked up off the ground. By merging together things that don't naturally go together (i.e., an old photo of a couple with a piece of cactus), I was able to immerse myself more into my new environment.
