barbara levine to speak at Authors Sala in Mexico on 12/7

On December 7, 2007 at 5:00, The San Miguel Authors Sala presents a reading and book signing by Barbara Levine. Levine is the author of Around The World: The Grand Tour in Photo Albums. She will give a visual presentation featuring a wealth of turn-of-the- twentieth-century photographs and will trace the development of the travel photo album, from primarily narrative forms—ships' logs and diaries—into beautiful objects that evoke the pleasures of a time when the surroundings were taken in slowly and travel was an art in and of itself.
